Nova geração domina o Rio

Entre os dias 12 e 15 de maio teve a 5a etapa do Womens World Tour, o mundial feminino de pranchinha na Barra da Tijuca. O campeonato rolou com boas ondas (1 metro) e mostrou que a cada ano a nova geração se fortifica no cenário mundial.
A grande campeã foi a havaiana Carissa Moore, de apenas 18 anos, continuando na liderança do ranking. Das 5 etapas, Carissa fez final em todas, ganhando 3. Isso mostra a consistência dessa jovem surfista na busca de seu primeiro título mundial.
Quem vem atrás mas não muito longe é Sally Fitzgibbons, australiana de 20 anos que foi a vice-campeã da etapa. Ela está em 2o no ranking mundial (ganhou 2 etapas), e mostra que junto com Carissa a briga pelo título mundial de 2011 vai ser quente.

The stop No. 5 of Womens World Tour was claimed by Carissa Moore, 18 years hawaiian at Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. The contest happened with good waves (3feet) e has shown that each year a new generation grows stronger on the world stage.
Carissa keeps as the ranking leader. In 5 contest, she went to the finals in all, winning 3 of them. it shows the consistence of this youn surfer who searchs your first world title.
And there is yet another girl, the australian Sally Fitzgibbons, 20 years who was the vice-champion in Rio. She is in the second place at the world ranking (she won 2 of them), and shows that with Carissa, the fight for the 2011 world title will be good.

O mais legal foi ver o domínio da nova geração! Todas na faixa dos 20 anos, e a Tyler Wright (AUS) tem a minha idade-16 anos, e é a 3a melhor do mundo!! Isso mostra a renovação que o esporte tá tendo.

Posso dizer que foi ótimo ter tido a visita das melhores do mundo aqui no Rio! Era muito bom voce chegar na praia e ver suas ídolas ao vivo, surfando do seu lado...sem contar na inspiração que te dá né?

A etapa 3 do ranking mundial masculino ainda tá rolando aqui no Rio, com 2 palanques alternativos, 1 na Barra (em frente ao Barra Mares) e outro no Arpoador. Vale a pena conferir os melhores do mundo em ação!

The best part was see the young girls ripping! Everybody on her early 20's, and Tyler Wright (AUS) has the same age as me-16 years, and she is the third best surfer!! It shows that the sport is renewing.

I can surely tell that it was great to have the visit of the world's best surfers here in Rio! It was sooooo good go to the beach and see your idols personally, and surf with them... and what about the inspiration that you get?

The stop No. 3 of the men world tour is still on here in Rio, with 2 alternative hustings, 1 at Barra and 1 at Arpoador. It's worth to check the best surfers in the world competing!
