¡ARRIBA MEXICO!

Hola!
Minha primeira viagem de 2013 foi para um lugar que nunca tinha ido: México. Fui competir no Punta Sayulita Classic, evento só para convidados de longboard e SUP PRO na linda praia de Sayulita. O convite surgiu pela minha amiga e companheira na pororoca chinesa Mary Osborne. Eu tava suuper ansiosa!! Primeira viagem do ano, primeiro campeonato, indo sozinha para um lugar novo... Me encantei pela cidadezinha, com altas ondinhas, água quente, pessoas felizes e super simpáticas.

Hola! My first trip of the year was to Mexico, a place I haven't been before. I went to compete on Punta Sayulita Classic, an longboard and SUP PRO invitational in the beautiful vila of Sayulita. The invitee come through my friend and partner in the chinese tidal bore, Mary Osborne. Oh I was SO nervous!! First trip of the year, first contest, going all by myself to a new place... I fell in love with this little town, with small and fun waves, warm water and lovely people.

Eu simplesmente AMO comida mexicana! Logo não tive problemas em me adaptar com a comida local :)

I just LOVE mexican food! As you can see I didn't have any problems in adapting with the local food.

Cheguei uma semana antes para me adaptar às ondas de Sayulita, e isso refletiu no meu desempenho no campeonato. Mesmo sendo minha 1a vez lá, estava me sentindo bem e me divertindo, sem cobrar resultado. Quando saímos da final, eles não deram o resultado na praia e resolveram segurar para falar só na premiação à noite. Ficar mais ansiosa pra que, né? Haha. Mas eu estava tranquila, se eu tivesse ficado em 4o estaria amarradona pois sabia que tinha dado o meu melhor nas baterias. Meu sorriso nessa foto não mostra o tamanho da felicidade que senti quando falaram que eu era a campeã!! Nessa hora você esquece de todo o esforço, cansaço, preguiça para ir treinar... Eu faria tudo de novo ao quadrado só para sentir essa sensação mais uma vez ;)

Eu queria agradecer mais uma vez  à todos que torceram por mim, por ter sido tão bem recebida durante minha estadia no México, pelo evento alto nível, pela galera da Roxy México, aos locais por me liberarem as ondas durante os treinos... Hehe

I got there one week before the event to adapt to the waves in Sayulita, and I think it really helped me during the heats. Even being my first time there, I was feeling good and having fun, trying not to take it too seriously. When we got out of the final, they didn't say the official results at the beach, and they decided to annouce it only at the awards dinner at night. Why should I be nervous? Haha. It's funny because I was like, doens't really matter if I got 1st or 4th, I know I did my best out there. My smile at this photo above can't show how happy I was when they annouced I was the champion! Times like this make you forget all the suffering from training hard. You know what? I'd do it again and again just to have this feeling one more time ;)

Just wanted to thank again everybody who were supporting me, for making me feel at home there, everybody who made this event happen, Roxy Mexico crew for everything, and the locals for giving me some waves during my sessions ;)
