HAYAN TYPHOON

Árvores e estruturas no chão, estrada alagada...

So... For those who doens't know yet, I'm in China, in Hainan Island to be more exactly! I will compete in the women's world longboard championship, Swatch Girls Pro China.

What I wasn't expecting was to witness the heaviest typhoon ever recorded in history! It began on saturday afternoon (nov 9th), with the waves quickly getting bigger and the wind getting stronger. I could barely sleep last night, the wind was making so much noise that it seemed it would break the balcony door of my room. When we woke up we realized we ran out of power, and then we were "rescued" by our friends Nik, Olga, Brodie and Clemo.  When we left the hotel with them, we could see the effect of Hayan typhoon on Riyuewan bay. Trees, doors, chairs on the floor, flooeded road... They were expecting 12-15feet waves. But what we could see was only wash water... stormy and windy waves, breaking so far of the beach.

But thanks God we are now in a safe place, with our friends, good food and power. The typhoon might last one or two days more. Thank you all for being concerned about me and sending positive vibrations, everything will be fine! I'll keep you updated.
